Art

The King’s Academy’s Elementary Fine Arts program utilizes a wonderful curriculum called “Meet the  Masters”. During the art instruction time, students learn about 36 different artists over the course of 5 years. Elementary children learn about artist’s lives and his/her techniques. Following the presentation, students create a project based upon one of the master’s work of arts. The goal is for every child to find the artist inside themselves and to be encouraged to create. We utilize many avenues to showcase our students’ work, including the hallway bulletin boards, area contests, online galleries; and local businesses. At the end of the year students host an art festival in which each child features one chosen piece of art. The students look forward to taking home their portfolios at the end of each year to share their creativity and their projects with their parents.
