Biography

Heidi (Recker ’95) Patchin is a graduate of The King’s Academy. She was inspired in Miss Paulsen’s 2nd Grade classroom as an ITE student her senior year. She graduated magna cum laude from FAU and began teaching in a Palm Beach County public school immediately. In 2001, she married her high school love, Duane. In 2003 she desired to return to Christian Education and “came home” to TKA! After the birth of Kayla and Blake Chad, her precious children, she took time away from full-time teaching to focus on being mom. She continued to teach independently, homeschooling a young boy all the way through his high school graduation. Now Heidi is back to full-time teaching here at The King’s Academy in the Third Grade. Her children now attend TKA as second generation students. In her spare time she helps her husband, Duane, with their retail aquarium stores and maintenance company, Tanks A Lot. She also enjoys spending time with her family including her Boxer dog named Monet while kayaking, going to the beach, fishing, admiring orchids, and eating good food at all the best local spots. Duane, Heidi, Kayla, and Blake love and are blessed to attend Christ Fellowship church to be reminded of all the ways we can love just as our Savior modeled for us!
