The King’s Academy offers a variety of swim classes to TKA students (ages 3 years and up).

Class Description

Pre-1

Introduction to Water 1

(4 kids max)
Ages 3-5
This class is for children who have little to no water experience. Designed to help swimmers feel comfortable in the water with the proper water safety skills. The goal by the end of class is to float on their front and back and be comfortable putting their faces in the water.

Pre-2

Introduction to Water 2

(4 kids max)

Ages 3-5
This class is for children who are comfortable in the water or have had lessons before. They will learn the proper arm and kicking motions. The goal by the end of the class is to be able to swim out 5 feet out from the wall and back comfortably.

Introduction to Water Skills

(6 kids max)

Ages 5-13
This class is for children who are beginner swimmers. Designed to help swimmers feel comfortable in the water. The goal by the end of class is to be able to float and begin to learn the basics of the free style.

Fundamental Aquatic Skills

(6 kids max)

Ages 6-13
This class is for children who have had lessons before or are comfortable in the water. Participants will learn to enter water by jumping from side, master the freestyle and be introduced to the back stroke, pick up a submerged object, tread water, roll over from front to back and back to front.

Stroke Development

(8 kids max)

Ages 6-13
This class is for children who have completed level 2 or are very comfortable in the water and can swim a full lap. The child will be continue to develop the freestyle and backstroke and be introduced to the breast stroke, butterfly kick, and proper breathing technique.

Stroke Improvement

(8 kids max)

Ages 6-13
This class is for advanced swimmers who are comfortable and can perform the breaststroke, freestyle and backstroke. Stroke techniques will be perfected and will help build endurance.

Stroke Refinement

(8 kids max)

Ages 8+
This is our pre-competitive class. Designed as last step before joining club or school swim teams. This class is designed to refine the strokes learned in lower levels and introduce push-offs, flip turns and help build endurance.
