Auction History

We celebrate the dedicated TKA volunteers, teachers, and staff who have worked endless hours in support of The King’s Academy.  Over the past 11 years more than $2,700,300 has been raised by the King’s community to benefit our school. Thank you for your faithful support!

2015-Denim & Diamonds
This year’s event, themed Denim & Diamonds was held at the Country Club at Mirasol. Guests showed their support by bidding on more than 400 unique silent and live auction items. including family getaways, entertainment events, memorabilia and the wildly popular We Love TKA spirit experiences. Through the generosity of so many who joined in the fundraising effort, more than $376,000 was raised was led by co-chairs Michelle Collier, Lisa Gerardi, and Dana Wilkerson along with an amazing leadership team.  The event’s special project, Call to the Heart raised funds to assist with the implementation of a school-wide Science, Technology, Mathematics, and Engineering (STEM) program called Project Lead the Way.

2014-Star-Studded Premiere
The Mane Event, which raised more than $340,000, was led by co-chairs Michelle Collier, Lisa Gerardi, and Dana Wilkerson along with an amazing leadership team.  This year’s event, entitled a Star-Studded Premiere was held under a chandelier lit tent on the beautiful lawns of the National Croquet Center.  Guests walked the red carpet lined with paparazzi and famous Hollywood characters.  They enjoyed showing their support by bidding on more than 400 unique silent and live auction items. including family getaways, entertainment events, memorabilia and the wildly popular We Love TKA spirit experiences.  This year’s special project, Call to the Heart, raised more than $30,000 to provide air conditioning on all TKA route buses.

2013-Havana Nights
The Mane Event, entitled ‘Havana Nights,’ was held at PGA National Resort and Spa and raised more than $435,000. The event was led by co-chairs Teddy Walker and Denise Meers along with an amazing leadership team comprised of Lisa Gerardi, Irelys Pattee, and Cristina Rodriguez.  TKA was blessed with this amazing group of women who volunteered their time and talents to make this event successful.  The evening was a fun and lively culmination of months of dedicated planning by the auction committee, and the results are a tangible blessing to the students and programs of The King’s Academy.

This year’s event, TKA supporters had the opportunity to show their support by bidding on more than 500 unique silent and live auction items including family getaways, entertainment events, memorabilia and the wildly popular We Love TKA spirit experiences.   During dinner, guests were treated to live entertainment with a Latin flair by the school’s vocal and dance departments under the direction of David Snyder, the school’s Artistic Director.  This year’s special project, Call from the Heart, raised more than $36,000 for TKA’s Focus on Technology initiative.

2012-Passport to Paris
The Mane Event raised more than $268,000  under the leadership of co-chairs Andrea Titus and Connie Tuller along with an amazing leadership team comprised of Michelle Collier, Kami Kolkana, Denise Meers, Irelys Pattee, and Dana Wilkerson. More than 250 friends and families of The King’s Academy came together on March 2 at Wycliffe Country Club to support the auction, the school’s major fundraising event of the year. TKA was blessed with this amazing group of women who volunteered their time and talents to make this event successful. During dinner, guests were treated to a sneak preview and live performance by the school’s cast of Les Miserables under the Direction of David Snyder, the school’s Artistic Director. The live auction offered the spirit of friendly competition as auctioneers Ray Titus and Tim Willcox worked as a team to keep guests interested and bidding. This year’s special project, Call from the Heart, raised more than $21,000.
2011-That’s Italian!

The Mane Event raised more than $265,000 to support TKA under the leadership of Event Chairwomen Andrea Titus and Connie Tuller, and Silent Auction Chair Irelys Pattee. Guests enjoyed a fun-filled evening featuring a silent and live auction, dinner, and entertainment by TKA’s Choir and Advanced Dance students. Guests enjoyed the festive Italian atmosphere created through song, dance, and decorations. The live auction was energized by the spirit of friendly competition as TKA parent Ray Titus and alumni parent Jim Tatem worked as a team to keep guests interested and bidding. The Call from the Heart, Sights and Sounds, will provide new acoustical panels and large dual projection screens in the Sports & Fine Arts Center and will allow our students to experience cutting edge technology and professional performance opportunities. A special thanks to the entire auction committee for their dedication to TKA and to our guests for their faithful support.
2010-The Mane Event

More than $263,325 was raised to benefit TKA’s Annual Fund under the leadership of Co-Chairs Ann Marie Batten, Tara Schaefer, and Connie Tuller along with an amazing auction team. The event was a special night of celebration commemorating TKA’s 40th anniversary. This memorable evening included a live and silent auction, seated dinner, entertainment by TKA dance students who kept the celebratory theme in play as they provided energy filled entertainment for auction attendees. The Call from the Heart project focused on furnishing and equipping our new Center for the Arts and parents bid generously to the cause, donating more than$25,000. Thank you!
2009-Treasures Of The Orient
Co-chaired by Ann Marie Batten and Tara Schaefer. More than $251,135 was raised to benefit TKA’s 2008-09 Annual Fund- More than 1000 Reasons to Give. The event was held March 7th at PGA National. The Projectors in Place Campaign was kicked off at this year’s auction. Throughout the room, people raised their bid paddles high to support the project with the goal of outfitting each classroom with an LCD projector. At the auction and in the weeks following, King’s Parents, Grandparents, and Alumni have generously supported the project making this project a reality.
2008-BeachSide
Co-chaired by Ann Marie Batten, Dena Guida and Wanda Jenkins. More than $302,153 was raised to benefit TKA’s Annual Fund- The Next Step…. Proceeds Auction was held at the Beach Club on Palm Beach (first time the auction was held off campus).
2007-An Evening in the Garden
Co-Chaired by Tara Schaefer and Wanda Jenkins raised more than $271,113 to support The Campaign for The King’s Academy.
2006-Black Tie & Boots
Chaired by Tara Schaefer raised $264,338 to support The Campaign for The King’s Academy.
2005-Go West
Co-Chaired by Cathy Brandenburg and Phillis Jones raised $264,101 to support The Campaign for The King’s Academy.
2004-Lion Country
Co-Chaired by Kelly Kintz and Colleen Morell raised $196,602 to support The Campaign for The King’s Academy.
2003-A Night in the Tropics
Co-Chaired by Kelly Kintz and Mary Mills raised $168,000 to support The Campaign for The King’s Academy.
